The election of President Barack Obama was a triumph of Web 2.0 technology, allowing people to make their voices heard and participate in a way they never had before-- and ultimately perhaps playing a part in the record voter turnout that helped get Obama elected. As Mike Carney of USA Today points out in his January 20th article, change has come not only to the White House, but to the White House Web site. As per Carney's article:
"Millions of Americans have powered President Obama's journey to the White House, many taking advantage of the internet to play a role in shaping our country's future," an official writes on the new White House blog, noting: This "is just the beginning of the new administration's efforts to expand and deepen this online engagement."
